Maa Ashapura Mandir, located in Bhuj, is a revered spiritual site dedicated to Devi Aashapura, who is considered the patron deity of the Kutch region. The temple is known for its rich history, cultural significance. Ashapura Mata is considered to be a form of Devi Durga, and is specifically worshipped as a wish-fulfilling goddess, hence the name \"Ashapura\".
Ashapura Mandir Bhuj History and Architecture
Inside is a statue of Ashapura Mata, made of red-painted stone, about 6 feet tall. The sanctum is richly ornamented. The temple is somewhat rectangular in footprint. The dimensions given are about 52 feet height, 58 ft long, 32 ft wide for one of its major parts.
Maa Aashapura is considered the Kuldevi by many in the Kutch region. The temple was built in the 14th century by two Karad Vanias, Ajo and Anagor at Mata no Madh. She is the kuldevi of Kutchi Jadeja Rajputs, Bhanushali, Gosar, Savla & Poladia community. The Patels of charotar in piplav also worship Ashapuri Mata as Kuldevi.
There are smaller shrines / mandapas (pillared halls), possibly a sacred pond or tank in the complex for rituals. Also courtyards where devotees gather. She is a goddess regarded to fulfill the wishes of her adherents. It has been damaged and restored a few times, notably after earthquakes

Navratri Mahotsav is celebrated at Ashapura Mata Mandir (especially at Mata no Madh) with large gatherings. Decorative lights, cultural performances and communal prayers also arranged. During Navratri the 7th night has a Havan Vidhi (fire ritual) at Mata no Madh. Maha Shivaratri also celebrated very grandway.
