Nehru Place a big IT commercial, financial, and business center in New Delhi like other Connaught Place, Gurgaon, Bhikaji Cama Place, Rajendra Place and NOIDA. Therefore, named this metro station by using this famous market place. Station was opened same day of Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. Metro Station itself have a large shopping complex.
