Maa Daat Kali Temple - माँ डाट काली मंदिर

The Jai Maa Dat Kali Manokamna Siddhapeeth Temple was established on June 30, 1804, during the construction of the Dehradun-Saharanpur Highway. Echoing that very history, on April 14, 2026, India's current Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will offer prayers at the Maa Dat Kali Temple prior to the inauguration of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway.

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, and a black stone idol of the Mother Goddess is enshrined in the main sanctum. Surrounded by mountains, the site offers a serene atmosphere, lush greenery, and beautiful natural scenery.

According to Raman Prasad Goswami, the Chief Mahant of the Maa Dat Kali Temple, devotees invariably visit the shrine to offer prayers after purchasing a new vehicle. Furthermore, whenever a devotee embarks upon a new venture, they make it a point to visit this temple to perform worship rituals.

The temple's annual festival is celebrated during the month of Ashadha. During Navratri, a festive atmosphere prevails at the temple, accompanied by the lively festivities of a fair.

How to Reach Dat Kali Temple?
To reach the Dat Kali Temple in Dehradun, devotees can utilize any mode of transport- air, train, or road. The nearest airport option to Dehradun is Jolly Grant Airport, located approximately 38.5 kilometers from the temple. Regular flights operate to this airport from major cities across India. Additionally, devotees can travel by train to the Dehradun Railway Station, which is situated 12.5 kilometers away.

Dehradun is well-connected by road to nearby cities such as Delhi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Mussoorie; therefore, devotees can reach the temple by taking a bus or a taxi.
