Srikanteshwara Temple, Nanjangud (also known as Nanjundeshwara Temple) is a famous and ancient Shiva temple located on the banks of the Kapila River (Kabini) in the town of Nanjangud, about 25 kilometers from Mysore, Karnataka. This temple is often called the \"Kashi of the South\" because of its religious significance and the belief that a pilgrimage here is as sacred as a pilgrimage to Kashi.
