Vishwaroop Adhivyadhihara Sri Bhakta Anjaneyaswamy Temple, commonly known as Anjaneya Temple, is located in the heart of the city of Chennai in the area called Nanganallur. It got its name from its principal deity, Prabhu Hanuman. Shri Hanuman is the son of Mata Anjana, hence he is also called Anjaneya. The most important aspect of the temple is its 32 feet statue. Bhagwan Hanuman is shaped out of a granite stone and the temple tower is 90 feet tall inside.

The foundation stone of the temple was laid around 1989 by a group of devout Hanuman followers – Shree Maruthi Bhakta Samaj. It was finally opened to the public in 1995.

The presence of both Bhagwan Ram and Bhagwan Krishna in the temple is an indication for this.It is a must visit place not only for those who are devotees of Hanuman, but also anyone who wants to catch a glimpse of a different kind of temple apart from Vishnu and Shiva, which is common in Chennai.
