Varadvinayak is one of the Ashtavinayak temples in Maharashtra. The temple located near Mahad village, near Khopoli (Raigad district), about 80 km from Mumbai and 25 km from Lonavala. Varadvinayak Mandir dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Unlike most temples, here devotees are allowed to personally perform abhishek (ritual bathing) and touch the idol, which is rare.
Varadvinayak Mandir History and Architecture
\"Varadvinayak\" means the Giver of Boons. Devotees believe that worshipping here fulfills wishes and removes obstacles. Varadvinayak Mandir is one of the eight swayambhu (self-manifested) Ganesha idols, considered very powerful.
Mandir built in 1725 CE by Subhedar Ramji Mahadev Biwalkar. The idol is placed in a stone temple with a simple design and a beautiful Nandadeep (eternal lamp) that has been burning continuously since the temple was established. There is a pond behind the temple, believed to have medicinal properties.
Bhaktibharat says that according to the Purana, Prince Rukmangad disrespected a sage while hunting, which led to a curse. Later, he worshipped Lord Ganesha here and Ganesha blessed him with the boon-giver Varada Vinayaka.
Varadvinayak Mandir Darshan Timing
Varadvinayak Mandir open for the whole week and the darshan timing is 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. One can actually touch ganpati's feet on non-crowded days.

Ganesh Utsav is the prime festival at Varadvinayak Mandir. Anant Chaturdashi also celebrated in a grand way. On Weekends and Tuesday lot of devotees pay visit.

Varadvinayak Mandir is located in Mahad village, Khalapur Taluka, in the Raigad District of Maharashtra. Mandir is closest to Mumbai city and the nearest railway station is Khopoli. By road ways, the temple is approximately 80 km from Mumbai and approximately 85 km from Pune.
