About Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in a Khatrikul on the day of Kartik Purnima in the village of Talwandi situated on the banks of the river Ravi. According to some opinions, his date of birth is considered as 15 April 1469. But his popular birth date is considered to be Kartik Purnima, which usually falls 15 days after Diwali in October-November.
Guru Nanak addresses his followers by the names Nanak, Nanak Dev Ji, Baba Nanak and Nanakshah. He is also known as Nanak Lama in Ladakh and Tibet.
