Phalguna month is the last of the Hindu Panchang, followed by the Hindu New Year's beginning. Chaitra is the first month in the twelve months of Hindu Panchang, and Fagun or Falgun or Phalgun is the last. According to the English calendar, the month falls in February or March. This month is named Phalguna because the full moon of this month is in the Phalguni Nakshatra.

Phalguna month has special significance in Hinduism. Because Maha Shivratri is the special day of Bhagwan Shiva which falls in this month. Along with this, the festival of colors Holi also falls in this month.
In the month of Phalguna, apart from Bhagwan Shankar, there is a law to worship Mata Sita, Shri Krishna, Mata Lakshmi and Chandra Dev. It is believed that by worshiping these deities in this month, one gets relief from all troubles and happiness-prosperity, wealth-prosperity is attained.
