Phalguna month is the last of the Hindu Panchang, followed by the Hindu New Year's beginning. Chaitra is the first month in the twelve months of Hindu Panchang, and Fagun or Falgun or Phalgun is the last. According to the English calendar, the month falls in February or March. This month is named Phalguna because the full moon of this month is in the Phalguni Nakshatra.

Like the month of Magh, Dan-dharm has special importance in the month of Phalguna. In this month, pure ghee, mustard oil, seasonal fruits, grains, clothes, etc. should be donated to the needy according to their ability. By doing this, virtue is attained. Along with this, auspicious results are obtained by offering for the ancestors.

What to do during Phalguna month?

❀ Donation of food, clothes and water destroys sins and brings happiness in life. Along with this, at the time of Holika Dahan, take a pledge to give up bad habits and offer sesame seeds, coconut and wheat in the fire.
