❀ On third Shravan Monday, the spot is traditionally believed to be closely associated with Agastya’s penance/energy, making it popular for pilgrimages and small fairs.
❀ There are no formal priests or scheduled aarti ceremonies daily like big temples — it’s primarily a natural heritage and hermitage site where devotees offer prayers and perform personal worship.
How to visit Agastya Ashram
The Agastya Ashram (Agasti Mandir) is a serene, historic site located on the banks of the Pravara River in Bhandardara, near Nashik, Maharashtra. It is best reached by private taxi or bus from Nashik (approx. 70-80 km) or Igatpuri (28 km), with the final approach via Akole.
The nearest railway station is Igatpuri, located about 28 km away.
