Ashok Sasthi is a traditional Hindu festival primarily celebrated in West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and parts of Bangladesh. The festival is dedicated to Devi Shashthi (Ṣaṣṭhī Devi), the divine protector of children and bestower of fertility and maternal blessings. Ashok Sasthi falls on the sixth day (Shashti Tithi) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Chaitra month (March–April).
