The temple is located at 'Kati Ghati' in Chanderi, Ashoknagar district, Madhya Pradesh, approximately 2 kilometers from the Chanderi bus stand. It is situated on a hill and can be reached by climbing steps or via the path from Chanderi Fort. Chanderi is well-connected by road to major cities in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The nearest railway station is Mungaoli Railway Station, and the nearest airport is Gwalior Airport.

History and Architecture of Jageshwari Mata Temple

The Jageshwari Mata Temple is an ancient cave temple. According to local beliefs, the temple dates back to the era of the Mahabharata, while parts of the current structure are believed to belong to the period between the 6th and 11th centuries. The temple holds significance as a sacred Shakti Sthal, attracting a large number of devotees from Madhya Pradesh and neighboring states.

The temple complex houses a remarkable Shivling carved with 1,100 miniature Shivlings, as well as a four-faced (Chaturmukh) Shivling, making it architecturally unique. There is also a natural water source here; water constantly drips onto the Shivling from the rocks above, further sanctifying the temple's atmosphere.
