History and Architecture of Dattatreya Temple and Hanuman Statue
Lord Hanuman is a Hindu deity who is believed to be the most beloved disciple of Lord Rama who displayed great strength and bravery. The city of Karapichama houses the Dattatreya Yoga Center and Temple on which the Lord Hanuman idol is situated. The 85-foot-tall statue of the Hindu god Hanuman, located in the village of Carapichaima in Trinidad, is majestic. Built according to the Dravidian style of South Indian architecture, it is the largest Hanuman statue outside India. Lord Hanuman's magnificence is a reminder to all the devotees. The statue, inaugurated in 2003, is the tallest in the Western Hemisphere and the second tallest in the world.
