Jai Santoshi Maa is one of the most iconic Hindi devotional films in Indian cinema history. The film tells the story of Satyavati, a devoted woman whose faith in Goddess Santoshi Maa helps her overcome hardships caused by her husband’s family and other challenges. It also includes the mythological origin of Santoshi Maa and her conflicts with other goddesses.
When it released, it was a low-budget film with no big stars, yet it became a blockbuster. Many people began fasting on 16 consecutive Fridays in devotion to Santoshi Maa after watching it. The film was so influential that it led to a sudden nationwide rise in Santoshi Maa temples and worship.
There was also a 2006 remake with the same title, but it didn’t match the popularity of the original, till Bhakti Bharat is providing you one more chance to watch this film..
