Nirjala Ekadashi 2021 (निर्जला एकादशी 2021)

According to the Panchang, Nirjala Ekadashi fast will be observed on Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. The fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is considered to be the best among all Ekadashi fasts. This year Nirjala Ekadashi fast is held on June 21, Monday.
Importance of Nirjala Ekadashi
The importance of Nirjala Ekadashi is special among all the fasts. It is considered to be one of the most difficult fasts. Water is sacrificed in this fast. That is why it is called Nirjala Ekadashi. Whoever fulfills this fast according to the method, happiness, prosperity, and peace remain in his life. The description of this fast is also found in the Mahabharata period. According to the legend, Bhagwan Shri Krishna had told Dharmaraj Yudhishthira in detail about the Mahamatya of Ekadashi fasting. At the behest of Bhagwan Krishna, Yudhishthira completed the Ekadashi fasting methodically.

Significance of Parana in Ekadashi Fasting
The end of the Ekadashi fast is called Parana. The Ekadashi fast is broken on the next day of the fast. The fast should be broken after sunrise. According to the belief, it is considered best to break the fast before the date of Dwadashi ends. If the date of Dwadashi ends before sunrise, then the fast should be broken after sunrise.
