Margashirsha is the ninth month in the Hindu calendar, considered highly auspicious for Hindus. According to the scriptures \"Masonam Margashirshoham\" means that there is no other month as auspicious as Margashirsha.

Margashirsha month is a holy month which is fully described in the scriptures. Those who fast on Ekadashi or Dwadashi are freed from all sins and the doors of heaven are opened for them. Chandrama is worshiped on Margashirsha Purnima. One of the main significance of Margashirsha month is to please the ancestors. The month of Margashirsha is auspicious for performing Tarpan and Pitra Puja for the peace and salvation of our ancestors. While fasting on Amavasya, devotees not only please deities like Indra, Shiva, Surya, Agni but also birds, animals and evils.

Do these spiritual rituals in the month of Margashirsha

❀ Wake up early: Wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take a holy bath, ideally in the Ganga or if not possible, at home.

❀ Offer water to the Sun: Face east and offer water to Lord Sun to start your day with divine energy and positivity.

❀ Sashtriya Path: Recite Vishnu Sahasranama (1000 names of Lord Vishnu)
