Ahoi Ashtami Vrat Katha (अहोई अष्टमी व्रत कथा)

Ahoi Ashtami Vrat Katha
The significance of celebrating Ahoi Ashtami is related to the mother who lived in a village with her seven sons. Once they thought an idea of renovating their home. For this, she went to the forest with her axe to collect the soil for the renovation. While digging the soil, her axe unintentionally fell on a cub who lived in a nearby den and he died.
The mother felt very guilty and could not do anything. Thus, returned back home. After this accident, the mother lost all her seven sons. She kept on telling that it was all happened due to the curse of killing a cub. Then the villagers advised her to pray and do fast for Ahoi Mata. She followed them and got her all seven sons back. Since then Ahoi Ashtami has been celebrated religiously all over India, especially in the northern parts.
