Philosophy: Ravidas's ideas belong to the Nirguna philosophy within the bhakti movement.
Sant Ravidas was an Indian mystic, poet, social reformer and spiritual master who contributed significantly to the Bhakti movement through devotional songs, poetry and spiritual teachings. He also wrote 40 poems for the Adi Granth, the holy book of Sikhism.

He is regarded by his devotees as a man who was a living symbol of religious protest, not as a spiritual symbol of any ultimate unifying cultural principle. His followers see him as a man who was the living embodiment of religious protest rather than the spiritual embodiment of any overarching cultural principle.

Saint Ravidas through his great poetry writings gave a variety of spiritual and social messages regarding his immense love for God and for the betterment of his fans, followers, community and social people. His work emphasizes the goodness of man while conveying the message of love with God, Guru, the universe and nature. He was a contemporary of Saint Kabir.
