Tami Hanuman Jayanti Significance and Celebrations
It is believed that Bhagwan Hanuman was born during Margashirsha Amavasya when Moolam Nakshatram was prevailing. Most years Margashirsha Amavasya coincides with Moolam Nakshatram. The years when Margashirsha Amavasya does not coincide with Moolam Nakshatram, the Amavasya day is preferred to determine the date of the celebrations. It is believed that Bhagwan Hanuman was born during sunrise – hence, the temples initiate spiritual discourses that start at dawn and end after sunrise.
Tamil Hanuman Jayanti Puja Vidhi
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. Light a diya in front of the Bhagwan Hanuman idol.
3. Decorate the idol with garland and offer sweets.
4. Visit Bhagwan Hanuman Temple to seek blessings.
5 Special puja are organized in the temples.
6. Sindoor is smeared on the idol of Bhagwan Hanuman.
7. Offer coconut and various types of fruits.
8. Devotees who observe fast on this day, break their fast in the evening.
