Hindu communities in Canada celebrate the birth of Bhagwan Krishna (Janmashtami) with great reverence and enthusiasm. The occasion is traditionally the biggest and grandest celebration at the Hare Krishna Temple in Toronto. Devotees are allowed to approach the idols and participate in the worship. Janmashtami is celebrated across Canada with great enthusiasm by the Hindu community. They celebrate the birth of Krishna in various ways and show their love for Bhagwan Krishna on that day. This year Janmashtami will be celebrated in Canada from 6 Sept, 2023 – 7 Sept, 2023.
Sri Krishna Janmashtami is traditionally the biggest celebration in the Hare Krishna temple in various Canadian cities. In such a situation, special darshan programs are held in all the temples. Additionally, all temples in Canada will have festive events from 6:00 pm to midnight! Extremely popular among all devotees, devotees can attend the Hare Krishna temple at any time. Traditional Janamotsav (birth celebrations) of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, a child idol of Shri Krishna is decorated on a swing in the accompaniment of music, hymns and dance.
