Temples in India have historical roles. Since ancient times, temples have reflected themselves not only as a place of worship but also as that of education and the overall development of individuals. Many towns, cities, places of power, trading centers developed around these ancient temples. All these reforms were aimed at unifying Indian people towards a common cause- to evolve a common and united political consciousness against foreign rule. People assembled in religious places to discuss political affairs.
