The history of Ram Barat is said to date back approximately 125 years, when Lala Kokamal, a prominent businessman, started the tradition of a three-day celebration surrounding a royal wedding. He has had such a profound influence on this festival that the road along which the procession passes has been named "Lala Kokamal Marg." Now, Lala Kokamal's great-grandson, Rajiv K. Agarwal, has also begun contributing his time to the event.

❀ Ramlila performance by a renowned Moradabad troupe (Pankaj Agarwal's group), which has also performed in Ayodhya.
❀ A special feature will be the tableaux of the "Dwadasha Jyotirlingas" which will be the centre of attraction.
❀ The "Lanka" built for this event will be a three-storeyed structure and will be a major decorative attraction.

The festival lasts for three days. It is witnessed by millions of people from Agra as well as neighboring districts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The entire area is illuminated with thousands of lamps and music plays continuously.
