Ram Barat Agra (राम बारात आगरा)

The Ram Barat procession will begin on September 17, marking the beginning of the four-day Janakpuri Festival in Kamla Nagar. The event will celebrate the cultural heritage of North India. The festival will feature a Ram Barat, followed by several events from September 17 to 20, including the depiction of the marriage of Lord Ram and Sita.
History of Ram Barat
The history of Ram Barat is said to date back approximately 125 years, when Lala Kokamal, a prominent businessman, started the tradition of a three-day celebration surrounding a royal wedding. He has had such a profound influence on this festival that the road along which the procession passes has been named "Lala Kokamal Marg." Now, Lala Kokamal's great-grandson, Rajiv K. Agarwal, has also begun contributing his time to the event.
