Bhadrapada maas is the sixth lunar month in the Hindu calendar. Which is also known as Bhadra or Bhadrapada or Bhado or Bhadrav. Bhadrapada is the second of the four holy months of Chaturmas. According to the beliefs, during these four months, Lord Vishnu leaves the Kshir Sagar and resides in Hades with King Bali.

There are many special Teej-festivals, fasts, days, auspicious dates in the month of Bhadrapada. Special festivals include Hartalika Teej, Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami, Jain Payurshan festival and Anant Chaturdashi. In this month, on Ashtami Tithi, Bhagwan Krishna was born in Rohini Nakshatra and Taurus ascendant. Therefore, the importance of this month has increased even more. Along with this, Hartalika Teej, Jain Payurshan festival, Aja Ekadashi, Shri Ganesh Chaturthi etc. will also be celebrated this month.

Importance of Bhadrapada Maas

The month of Bhadrapada or Bhado is most dear to Lord Shri Krishna. In this month, along with Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna and Lord Ganesha should be worshipped.According to religious beliefs, by worshiping the gods and goddesses in the month of Bhado, the devotee gets relief from all the troubles. Apart from this, the person gets the benefit of happiness, success and good fortune in life.

What to do in the month of Bhadrapada?
