Puri is one of the places having a Dham, out of four Dham of India. The main attraction of the temples of Jagannath Puri is its architecture and sculpture. A holy water tank or pond available for the temple is particularly used during summer season which is called Narendra Pushkarini.

In this pond, Bhagwan Jagannath has been taken out in colorful procession and given a ceremonial boat ride from Akshyatritiya for 15days. In an interesting demonstration of the assimilative character of the Jagannatha cult, Madanmohana and Rama Krushna, representing Jagannatha & Balarama partake in the festival with the representatives' images of the presiding deities of five main Shiva temples of Puri.

There are numerous smaller temples and shrines within the Jagannath Temple complex where active worship is regularly conducted. The Vimala Temple (Bimala Temple) is considered one of the most important of the Shaktipeeth. The temple of Mahalakshmi has an important role in rituals of the main temple. The Kanchi Ganesh Temple is dedicated to Uchchhishta Ganapati. There are other shrines namely Muktimandap, Surya, Saraswati, Bhuvaneshwari, Narasimha, Rama, Hanuman and Eshaneshwara temple and many more.

And on the out side of the temple Gundicha Temple, Lokanath Temple, Sunar Gaurang, Mausima Temple, Konark Temple and so on.
