Gorakhnath was a Hindu yogi, saint who was the influential founder of the Nath Hindu monastic movement in India He is considered one of the two notable disciples of Matsyendranath. Gorakhnath was born in the 11th century, at least four centuries before the birth of Sant Kabir.

Gorakhnath Baba known as Navnaths. Guru Gorakhnath was one of the prime naths in this tradition. He is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva and is known as a Maha Yogi of ancient India. Guru Gorakhnath was a Yoga Siddha Yogi, he started the Hatha Yoga tradition. Gorakhnath is also called the Manas son of Guru Matsyendranath.

He is considered one of the most influential founders of the Nath Hindu monastic movement in India.
