Mata Meldi (माता मेलडी)

Meldi Mata is a Hindu Devi, she is mainly famous in Saurashtra region i.e. Gujarat state. Maa Meldi is the form of Durga. Mata is revered by some in the state of Gujarat as Chunwadiya Koli and for some as a house deity who protects the farm. It is said that by worshiping Maa Meldi, the devotees get the blessings of Bhagwan Vishnu, the legend says that Meldi Mata fulfills any wish of the devotees.
Swarup of Mata Meldi:
Mata Meldi has eight hands with different types of weapons. Mata holds a bottle in one hand, a dagger in the second, a trident in the third, a sword in the fourth, a mace in the fifth, a disc in the sixth, a lotus in the seventh, and the posture of abhay mudra in the eighth. All the tantric powers are sealed in the bottle in the hand of Meldi Mata. Meldi Mata's vahan is a goat.

Kimbadanti of Mata Meldi:
According to ancient beliefs, Bhagwati Uma appeared on earth after getting angry with the atrocities of demon Amaruva. He started a war against the demon Amaruva. When the enraged devi Uma wanted to kill Amaruva after defeating him. So he went and hid in the skin of a dead cow. Seeing the unholy place of his hiding place, the mata stood away from there and started rubbing her hands in anger. By rubbing hands, dirt came out of the hands of the devi and Meldi Mata was born in the form of a five-year-old girl, she killed the demon Amruva in a matter of words.

Mata Jagdamba was very pleased with this infinite ability of Meldi Mata, she revealed her Navadurga form. The nine goddesses appeared and blessed Meldi Mata and said, your form has become the superpower form of Kaliyug. That's why the whole world will worship you as Shri Meldi Mata.

Method of worshiping Mata Meldi:
It is believed that worshiping Mata Meldi with full devotion fulfills any wish of the devotees within 21 days. There is a temple of Meldi Mata in Anand district of Gujarat, whole year devotees visit the place and have darshan of Meldi Mata.
