The festival of Holi is celebrated with great pomp across the country, but every year its different enthusiasm is seen in Mathura, the city of Kanha. This festival of colors in Mathura lasts for 40 days, which starts from the day of Vasant Panchami. As per tradition, morning aarti is performed at Banke Bihari temple on the day of Vasant Panchami. Then the priest of the temple starts the festival of Holi by applying gulal tilak to Lord Banke Bihari. This festival ends on the day of Rang Panchami. How Holi celebrated in Vrindavan

How to Reach Mathura?
By road, public buses and taxis are available from Delhi and Agra, which take approximately 3 1⁄2 hours and 1 1⁄2 hours respectively. Agra Airport is the nearest airport to Mathura. But there are more flight options at the airport in Delhi. Rail route is the most economical way to reach Mathura. It takes about 1 hour from Agra to Mathura. From Delhi, it takes about 2 hours.
