According to Hindu calendar, every year on Ekadashi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Jyestha month is celebrated as Gayatri Jayanti. In Hindu scriptures, mata Gayatri has been called the mata of the Vedas. Maa Gayatri has 10 hands and 5 faces. Out of which 4 faces symbolize the Vedas and the fifth face represents the almighty power. The same ten hands are the symbol of Bhagwan Vishnu. According to mythology, Gayatri Devi is the consort of Bhagwan Brahma and her original form is Shri Savitri Devi.
Who is Devi Gayatri?
It is believed that the Gayatri Mantra was revealed to Bhagwan Brahma in the beginning of the creation. By the grace of mata Gayatri, Brahma ji interpreted the Gayatri Mantra in the form of four Vedas with his four mouths. She is also known as Savitri and Vedmata (mata of the Vedas). Gayatri is often associated with Savitri, the solar deity in the Vedas. According to many texts like Skanda Purana, Saraswati or her form is another name Gayatri and is the wife of Bhagwan Brahma.

हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार हर साल ज्येष्ठ मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी तिथि को गायत्री जयंती मनाई जाती है। हिन्दू शास्त्रों में माता गायत्री को वेदों की माता कहा गया है। मां गायत्री के 10 हाथ और 5 मुख हैं। जिनमें से 4 मुख वेदों के प्रतीक हैं और पांचवां मुख सर्वशक्तिमान शक्ति का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। वही दस हाथ भगवान विष्णु के प्रतीक हैं। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार, गायत्री देवी भगवान ब्रह्मा की पत्नी हैं और उनका मूल रूप श्री सावित्री देवी है।

Gayatri Jayanti Puja Vidhi
❀ Get up in Brahma Muhurta and take a bath after retiring from all works.
❀ Now while meditating on Maa Gayatri, spread a clean cloth of red color in a chowki or in the house of worship. Now install the idol or picture of Maa Gayatri.
❀ Now offer water, flowers, garland, vermilion, Akshat to the mata Gayatri.
❀ Then chant the Gayatri Mantra while meditating on the mata by lighting incense-lamps.
❀ In the end, perform the aarti of mata Gayatri ji and apologize for the mistake.
