His major works Dnyaneshwari (Bhavarth Deepika): A spiritual commentary on the Bhagavad Gita written in the Marathi language (specifically in ovi meter), making it accessible to common people. Amrutanubhav: A profound philosophical text describing his own spiritual experiences. He translates each shloka of the Sanskrit Gita and then explains its meaning beautifully in Marathi.

He believed in equality of all – rejected caste and ritualistic barriers. aught that spiritual wisdom (dnyan) should be available to every person, not just scholars. He promoted the path of Yoga, Devotion (Bhakti) and Self-Realisation.
