History and Architecture of Jagdish Temple, Udaipur
Inside the Jagdish Temple complex is the main temple of Lord Vishnu where Jagannath Ji is seated in a black stone idol. The complex has small temples of Bhagwan Shiva, Goddess Shakti, Lord Ganesha and Sun God. Built in the year 1651 AD, this temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh I.
Jagadeesh Temple is a three storied temple and is built on a high platform. The temple has beautifully carved pillars, beautiful ceilings and painted walls. Stone elephants, dancers and horse riders are carved on the sides of the stairs. The main spire of the temple is about 79 feet high, which is visible from a distance. Jagadeesh Temple was built in the 17th century at a cost of ₹ 15 lakh.

Jagadish Mandir is open throughout the week and the darshan timings are from 4:15 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:15 pm to 8:00 pm. The temple is famous for its daily aarti and Vishnu Mahapuja, which attracts countless devotees and tourists.

Janmashtami, Diwali and Gangaur are the major festivals of the temple. Bhakti Bharat says Jagadeesh Mahotsav is a major annual festival of the temple which includes colourful festivities, devotional songs (bhajans) and traditional music.
