
Puri Dakshin Kali Mandir or Dakhinakali Temple is a sacred shrine located near the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha. The temple dedicated to Maa Dakshina Kali, a fierce form of Maa Kali. She is believed to guard the southern side (Dakshina Disha) of the Jagannath Kshetra. The temple is one of the Shakti Pith-like shrines within the sacred boundary (Chaturdhamas) of Puri.

The idol of the temple's presiding deity, Maa Dakshina Kali, is beautifully decorated with garlands, red hibiscus flowers, vermilion and jewellery. Inside the temple wall nine different forms of maa kali murti’s are there like Dakshina Kali, Bhadra Kali, Smasana Kali, Kala Kali, Guhya Kali, Kamkalaa Kali, Dhana Kali, Chand Kali, and Siddhi Kali. The temple is an important center of Tantrik practices and rituals during Kali Puja, Diwali, Amavasya nights.

The temple is open for the entire week, and darshan hours are from 6 AM to 9 PM. Darshan time varies during festivals.

How to Reach Puri Dakshin Kali Mandir
From Jagannath Temple’s southern gate (Dakshina Dwara), walk towards Kalika Devi Sahi Lane. Around 300–400 meters from the Jagannath Temple, within easy walking distance. You’ll find Puri Dakshina Kali Mandir nestled inside the narrow lane, surrounded by local homes and shops.
