Significance of Sita Navami 2021: Auspicious Time, Puja Vidhi (सीता नवमी 2021: महत्व, शुभ मुहूर्त, पूजा विधि)

The birth anniversary of Devi Sita is celebrated as Sita Navami throughout India. As per mythology, married women fast on this day for the long life of their husbands.
Sita Jayanti is celebrated on the Navami date during the Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. It is believed that Devi Sita was born on Tuesday in Pushya Nakshatra. Bhagwan Ram with whom Devi Sita was married was also born on the Navami date during the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. In the Hindu calendar, Sita Jayanti falls a month after Ram Navami.

21st May 2021: 11 o'clock 50 minutes to 12 o'clock 44 minutes

Rituals / Ceremonies:
On Sita Navami, especially married women worship Devi Sita along with Bhagwan Ram and Lakshman. Dharti Mata is also worshiped on this day. On this day, special rituals and prayers are held in Janaki temples across the country. Rituals like Shringar Darshan, Maha Abhishekam and Aarti are performed in temples.

On this day memories of the Ramayan, bhajans are also held. It is said that the virtue of this day is believed to be equal to the Chardham Tirtha.
