Surya Grahan on Diwali 2022 (सूर्य ग्रहण दिवाली 2022)

The holy festival of Deepawali begins with Dhanteras itself. Diwali is celebrated from Dhanteras to Bhaiya Dooj. This year the holy festival of Diwali is being celebrated on 24th October 2022 on the Amavasya of Kartik month. But this year on Diwali of 2022, the shadow of the surya grahan is visible.
Effect of Surya Grahan 2022 on Diwali Puja
There will be a surya grahan on the next day of Lakshmi Puja, so there will be Govardhan Puja on the second day. The eclipse will occur on the next day of Diwali, so the Sutak will start after midnight. According to astrologers, there will be no effect on Lakshmi Puja due to surya grahan. This time Diwali will be celebrated on Amavasya with Chaturdashi. At the same time, on November 8, there will be a lunar eclipse (Chandra Grahan) on Dev Diwali.

The surya grahan will happen on October 25, the day after Diwali. Surya grahan occurs only on Amavasya Tithi and Diwali also occurs on Amavasya. This time some such coincidence is being made that the Sutak period will start from the night of Diwali itself.

Surya Grahan 2022 Timing
❀ Surya Grahan 2022 will start at 4:29 pm Indian time and will continue till 5:24 pm. The Sutak of the eclipse will start 12 hours before the midnight of 24 October.
❀ The Sutak period will start on Diwali night i.e. 24th October at 02:30 and will last till 04:22 am on 25th October and the eclipse will be of about 4 hours 3 minutes.

According to the scriptures, such a situation was created 27 years ago in 1995 when there was a surya grahan on the day of Diwali itself.

What should be kept in mind during the Sutak period?
❀ According to astrology, no auspicious work should be done during the Sutak period.
❀ Do not cook or eat food during Sutak period.
❀ Do not brush your teeth and comb your hair during this time.
❀ Pregnant women should not go out of the house during the Sutak period.
