Hanuman Prasad Poddar was a Hindi writer, journalist and social reformer. He is best known for his work on Bhaktamal, a collection of biographies of Hindu saints. He also wrote many other books on Hinduism including Ramayan and Mahabharat.

Poddar was a pioneer in the field of Hindi literature. He is credited with popularizing the use of Hindi as a literary language. He was also a strong supporter of social reform. She worked to improve the lives of women and the poor. He was also a staunch nationalist. He opposed British rule in India.
