In Datia, a city famous for Pitambara Peeth, Param Pujya Shri Shri 1008 Chaitanya Das Ji Maharaj of the Udasin Sampraday established his ashram by making a temple of Shri Hanuman ji's 4-year-old child in the midst of dense forests and in this ashram with very difficult practices. Did penance, this holy place is today known as Hanuman Garhi.

The Navami of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is known as Shri Chandra Navami. This Chandra Navami festival is dedicated to Shri Chandra Muni, the founder of the nostalgic sect and the son of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This Chandra Navami Festival is the most famous festival of the temple.

In the temple premises, the water stream tapasya kund and fire tapasya kund of Shri Shri 1008 Chaitanya Das ji Maharaj and other materials related to Baba ji have been preserved. Which can be seen by the general public after the grace from the temple administration. In the temple premises itself, a huge circular memorial site of Babaji has been built.

The main Aaradhya in the temple is Shri Bal Hanumant Lal, Bhagwan Shiva in the form of Shivling, Maa Kali and Baba Balaknath ji are seated. The courtyard of the temple is very spacious, in which special care has been taken of trees and plants and greenery. Along with the temple, a cowshed and a water tank can also be seen.
