The ancient temple of Mata Sheetla near Baba Vaidyanath Dham is so ancient that there is no evidence of it. Every day a huge number of female devotees visit Sheetla Mata temple as compared to men. Every day devotees come regularly to offer water to mata.
Galwai Puja, which comes in the month of Chaitra, is celebrated with great pomp in the temple, the time and date of this worship is determined by the priest every year. In the month of Chaitra itself, the Basaudi (Basouda) festival is celebrated with great pomp by the people of Malwadi society. Nagar Puja in Vaishakh month and Dussehra festival in Ashwin month have a special significance in the history of the temple.

Due to the temple being located in a very busy market, it is often difficult to find it by devotees coming from outside. Sheetla Mata Temple is almost (50 meters away) in front of the ancient and famous Baiju Temple of Deoghar. The temple is situated about 300-400 meters away from the famous Ghanta Ghar of Deoghar.
