Chandraprabha Ji is the 8th Tirthankara of Jainism in the present cosmic cycle after the seventh tirthankara, Bhagwan Shri Suparshvanath Ji. His name means “Lord with the radiance of the moon.” He is revered for his purity, calm nature, and spiritual wisdom. Devotees believe that remembering his name brings peace and clarity of mind.

From childhood, Chandraprabha Ji displayed extraordinary wisdom, compassion, and detachment from worldly pleasures. After ruling the kingdom for some time, Chandraprabha Ji realized the impermanent nature of worldly life. He renounced his royal life and became a Jain monk, dedicating himself to deep meditation and spiritual discipline.

Attainment of Kevala Jnana
Through intense penance and meditation, Chandraprabha Ji attained Kevala Jnana (perfect knowledge). After achieving omniscience, he began preaching the path of truth, non-violence, and liberation.

Nirvana of Chandraprabha Ji
Chandraprabha Ji ultimately attained Moksha (liberation) at the sacred Jain pilgrimage site Sammed Shikharji, where many Tirthankaras achieved liberation.
