Saint Siyaram Baba was famous for his unalloyed devotion towards Lord Rama. In the early part of his life, he practiced silence for 12 years. For this he was especially respected. But he got popularity from those 4 first letters, which were his first words after breaking the silence. These 4 letters were “Siyaram”. Since then his name became Siyaram Baba.

Siyaram Baba, a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman, accepted donations of only ₹10 from devotees. The money collected was used for the restoration of the Narmada Ghats and the development of religious institutions and temples. Despite his limited formal education, Baba was known for his deep spiritual connection and constant recitation of the Ramcharitmanas, a revered Hindu scripture. He was continuously reciting Shri Ramcharitmanas for the last 70 years. Shri Ram Dhun used to play 24 hours in his ashram.

Siyaram Baba was known for his rigorous lifestyle, often wearing minimal clothing and facing extreme weather conditions without additional protection. It was believed that through years of meditation and spiritual practice he had adapted his body to these harsh conditions. Despite his spiritual stature, he led a humble life, accepting food donations from villagers and taking only a minimal portion for himself and distributing it among animals and birds.

Siyaram Baba will be died on Wednesday, 11 December 2024 at 6:10 am on the occasion of Mokshada Ekadashi and Gita Jayanti.
