Sripada Srivallabha is revered within the Datta Sampradaya as the first incarnation of
Bhagwan Dattatreya. He was born under the Chitra Nakshatra during Ganesh Chaturthi, and his birth is described as an extraordinary divine event. According to legend, following his birth, a three-headed cobra sheltered the newborn infant for 18 days.
Sumati Devi, the mother of Sripada Srivallabha, was deeply devoted and received the divine grace of Lord Dattatreya. Sripada Srivallabha is regarded as a divine incarnation who came to guide devotees and revive spiritual values.
