The temple's Shivalinga is considered self-manifested and is considered a Jagroot Jyotirlinga. Devotees believe that lighting a lamp in this temple for 40 days fulfills their wishes. There is great devotion for the Jalabhishek and worship here, especially during the month of Sawan.
