Srisailam Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple, Srisailam town is famous for Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple and is also one of the dwadas jyotirlinga kshetr. The temple is located in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is one of the holy pilgrimage sites for Saivism and Shaktism sects of Hinduism. The town is classified as both Jyotirlinga and Shakti Peetha.
You can reach Srisailam by your own vehicle, bus, taxi and train very comfortably. Temple has a very great history. Here Bhagwan shiva is worshiped as Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devi Parvati worshiped as Bhramarambika (The consort of Bhagwan Mallikarjuna Swamy). There are other greatest old historical temples located like paladhara, pancha dhara, sakshi vinayak, sikhareswar swamy, hatakeswar swamy, patal ganga. All services like hotel accommodation, darshan, transport can be booked online.
You can see the srisailam dam and temple both at a time. As it is situated on the hill station it adds a lot of aroma to the beauty and climate. The city is situated on the top of the mountains and beside river Krishna. Avoid night driving for darshan, on the way about 27km through there is Forest Tiger reserve. Forest check posts allow traffic only between 6AM to 9PM.
