Guru Hargobind was the sixth of the ten Sikh Gurus. He became the Sikh Guru in 1606 after the death of his father, Guru Arjan Dev. Guru Hargobind Ji was a great warrior and a powerful leader.

He built the Akal Takht, the highest seat of Sikh authority, and established the Khalsa, a Sikh warrior community. Guru Hargobind Ji was a strong supporter of religious freedom and equality. He fought against the Mughal Empire, which was trying to suppress Sikhism. Guru Hargobind was a wise and compassionate leader. He is remembered as one of the most important figures in Sikh history.
