Famous - Fifth Sikh GuruGuru Arjan Dev ji was the 5th sikh guru of sikhism. Guru Arjan's birthplace site is now memorialized as the Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib. Guru Arjan Dev is a popular spiritual figure and various people from different religions and faith come to meet him and seek his blessings. He also contributed more than 2,000 hymns himself and wrote the Sukhmani Sahib Bani.

Guru Arjan Dev had laid the foundation of Harmandar Sahib in the middle of Amritsar Talab which was built by Guru Ramdas and today is known as Golden Temple.

Guru Arjan was arrested under the orders of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir and asked to convert to Islam. Historical records and the Sikh tradition are unclear as to whether Guru Arjan was executed by drowning or died during torture. Guru Arjun Dev was the first martyr of Sikhism. Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji martyrdom is remembered as Shaheedi Divas . He is remembered for his humility. He was a very peaceful and saintly person.

Guru Nanak
