His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj (Swami Keshavjivandasji) is the sixth and current spiritual leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Mahant Swami Maharaj received initiation as a Hindu Swami from Yogiji Maharaj in 1961.

It is said that His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj is constantly in touch with God. He should be considered by the devotees as "a perfect servant of the Bhagwan, completely filled with the Bhagwan and therefore worthy of reverence and worship".

According to the teachings of Swaminarayan, Akshar-Purushottam philosophy, devotees consider Swaminarayan to be manifested on earth through the present form of Akshar, Mahant Swami Maharaj. Thus, followers of BAPS believe that by doing devotion to the Guru, they offer it to Swaminarayan himself.
