Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon day(Purnima) of Chaitra month. Hanuman, also known as the banar bhagwan, was born on this day. The birthday of Hanuman ji is celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated twice a year. First on Chaitra Shukla Purnima according to Hindu calendar i.e. between March or April according to Gregorian calendar and second on Kartik Krishna Chaturdashi i.e. Narak Chaturdashi i.e. between September-October.
Devotees celebrate Hanuman Jayanti at different times of the year depending on their local beliefs and calendar.

❀ Hanuman Jayanti of Chaitra Purnima is most popular in North Indian states.

❀ In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated for 41 days, starting from Chaitra Purnima and ending on the tenth day during Krishna Paksha in the month of Vaishakh.

❀ In Andhra Pradesh, devotees start the initiation for 41 days on Chaitra Purnima and end it on the day of Hanuman Jayanti.

❀ In Tamil Nadu, Hanuman Jayanti is known as Hanumatha Jayanti and is celebrated during Margashirsha Amavasya. Tamil Hanuman Jayanti falls in the month of January or December in the Gregorian calendar.

❀ In Karnataka, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the Shukla Paksha Trayodashi of the month of Margashirsha. This auspicious day is known as Hanuman Vratam.

It is believed that Hanuman ji was born at the time of sunrise. On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, spiritual discourses are organized in the temples at Brahmamuhurta in the morning and these events end with sunrise. Hanuman, an ardent devotee of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita, is also known as Anjaneya.

हनुमान जयंती साल में दो बार मनाई जाती है। पहला हिंदू कैलेंडर के अनुसार चैत्र शुक्ल पूर्णिमा पर यानी ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर के अनुसार मार्च या अप्रैल के बीच और दूसरा कार्तिक कृष्ण चतुर्दशी यानी नरक चतुर्दशी यानी सितंबर-अक्टूबर के बीच मनाई जाती है। भक्त अपनी स्थानीय मान्यताओं और कैलेंडर के आधार पर वर्ष के अलग-अलग समय में हनुमान जयंती मनाते हैं।
