Shaligram Avatar of Bhagwan Vishnu
The religious faith of the people is attached to the Shaligram stone. According to religious beliefs, this stone symbolizes the incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu. These stones have special faith in Hinduism. Thakurji and temples worshiped in Hindu homes are also made of these stones. Shaligram stone is worshiped as Bhagwan Vishnu. By establishing it at any place and worshiping it, Lakshmi ji resides there. Keeping these beliefs in mind, it has been decided to prepare the idol of Bhagwan Ram from Shaligram Shila in Ayodhya.

Mythological story behind Saligram
Mata Tulsi and Bhagwan Shaligram are mentioned in the mythology of religious texts. According to legend, a demon named Jalandhar attacked Kailash Parvat to make Mata Parvati his wife. And to save Jalandhar from the gods, his wife Vrinda started penance. This made the gods worried. In such a situation, Bhagwan Vishnu took the form of Jalandhar and reached in front of Vrinda. After this Vrinda left her penance seeing Jalandhar in front of her. After this the demon Jalandhar could be killed.

When Vrinda came to know about this, she cursed Bhagwan Vishnu to turn into stone. On this, the deities of Dev Lok approached Vrinda and requested her to get rid of the curse. Bhagwan Vishnu was freed from the curse but she herself got absorbed in the fire. It is said that mata Tulsi was born from his ashes. Later, Mata Tulsi Vivah to Shaligram, an incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu. That's why even today these stones have so much religious importance.

According to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, preparations are on to start the construction work in the form of Ram Lala in the sanctum of the temple.
