Malaseri Dungri, the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Devnarayan Ji is located in Asind Tehsil of Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. It is located 60 km from Bhilwara district and 5 km east of Asind tehsil on Asind Shahpura road. Malassery Dungri is a very beautiful delightful place scattered with greenery in the lap of nature. The height of this Dungri is about 350 feet.
Mythology Behind Malaseri Dungri
Pleased with the hard penance of Mata Sadu at Malaseri Dungri, Shanka Sawant incarnated in the form of Bhagwan Vishnu Devnarayan from the navel of a lotus flower by tearing a rock on the evening Saturday of 968 Magha month. At that very moment the Malaseri dungri had turned completely gold for a few moments. Five Kamdhenu cows from heaven, 6 months before the incarnation of Dev ji, on Bhadvi Chhath, the incarnation of Leeladhar, the horse of Dev ji took place from another tunnel on this Dungri and Nag Vasak Raja was incarnated from another tunnel near this.
The place where the lotus flower grew, there is an eternal tunnel, at present the idol of Devji is sitting on that tunnel. The roof of the temple is made of natural rock. There is an unbroken flame in the temple. Where the holy cave is still far away from human resources like no electrical equipment works inside.
Above the temple of Malaseri Dungri, there is a neem tree which is hundreds of years old. The specialty of this neem tree is that when two leaves are plucked together, one leaf tastes bitter while one leaf does not. Here every day the milk of desi cow is kept for Nag Vasak Raja, which Vasak Raja comes to drink milk every day and gives darshan to the lucky devotees even today, in this Bhadvi Chhath and Mahi Satam have special importance.
Here, for many hundreds of years, Bhopaji of Poswal gotra family from Gujjar Samaj of the same family has been doing puja. In which Hemraj Poswal is an active priest.
Significance of Malaseri Dungri
Lakhs of people come here in the court of Bhagwan Narayan, whose every wish is fulfilled, there are many living examples of them. In the months of Shravan and Bhadrapada, lakhs of devotees come here for padyatra carrying flags from many states and districts. In twelve months here, with the help of Dev devotees, akhand free Bhandara runs for 24 hours. This is the biggest pilgrimage center of Gurjar Samaj and the faith center of Sarv Samaj where people from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh come here for darshan.
तीर्थ स्थान सवाईभोज आसींद में खारी नदी के किनारे भगवान देवनारायण जी का एक बहुत ही प्राचीन मंदिर करीब 12 से 13 सौ साल पुराना हैं।
