Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the present Jagadguru of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, a monk of the Supreme Paramahamsa sect, is arguably the foremost scholar of Vedanta and scriptures today. Sri Sharda Peetham is located in Sringeri, about 85 kilometers east of Udupi and 100 kilometers north-east of Mangaluru across the Western Ghats, and about 335 kilometers west-northwest of the state capital Bengaluru.

In 1966, at the age of 15, as a bachelor, he approached the then Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Abhinav Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji to seek blessings and teachings in the scriptures. Shringeri Acharya was then observing Chaturmasya in Ujjain. Sitaram Anjaneyulu had developed great renunciation within himself.

Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji has been the guiding light of countless spiritual seekers since then. His glory is infinite; Yet His Holiness is very simple, humble and completely free from ego.
