Sri Padmanabha Tirtha was a distinguished scholar and was recognized and respected by the people of his time as a 'Disciple of Sri Madhvacharya'. He was a renowned Advaita scholar, skilled logician and a deep believer in the Vedas, Mahabharata and Puranas.

He was a renowned and distinguished scholar, but his proficiency in the fourteen branches of learning was silenced by Madhvacharya in fourteen seconds when they met in 1265 AD. Sri Padmanabha Tirtha took initiation and sannyasa from Madhvacharya and soon became one of his most trusted disciples.

He was a renowned Advaita scholar, skilled logician and a deep believer in the Vedas, Mahabharata and Puranas. It is said that he was from the area close to the Godavari River. He won many debates and refuted all the prevalent systems of philosophy before being defeated by Sri Madhvacharya in a famous debate. Padmanabha Tirtha left this world in 1324 AD at Nava-Vrindavan on the sacred Tungabhadra River.
