What is the difference between Masik Shivratri and Mahashivratri?
Monthly Shivratri and Mahashivratri both have rituals to worship Bhagwan Shiva, but still both are considered different from each other.
There is a special method of worshiping Bhagwan Shiva on this day. It is believed that whoever worships the Shivling form of Bhagwan Shiva on the day of Mahashivratri, all the troubles of his life go away.

Where on one hand Bhagwan Shiva is worshiped on the day of Mahashivratri, on the other hand there is a special ritual of worshiping Mahadev on the day of Masik Shivratri. Both Mahashivratri and Masik Shivratri are dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva but despite being the same, both are very different. There is a huge difference between the two.

What is Masik Shivratri?
Masik Shivratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of every month. Based on this calculation, there are 12 monthly Shivratris in a year. The importance of Shivratri that comes in every month is different. However, the monthly Shivratri that falls in the month of Sawan is of greater importance.

What is Mahashivaratri?
Shivratri that falls in the month of Phalgun is called Mahashivratri. This Shivratri is called Mahashivaratri because on this day Bhagwan Shiva married Mother Parvati by sacrificing quietness. It is believed that on the day of Mahashivaratri, there is also a special ritual of worshiping Goddess Parvati along with Bhagwan Shiva.

Difference between Masik Shivratri and Mahashivratri
❀ Where on the one hand only Mahadev can be worshiped in the monthly Shivratri. At the same time, there is a law of worshiping Mother Parvati along with Mahadev in Mahashivaratri.
❀ While on the one hand worshiping Shivratri means keeping Bhagwan Shiva in mind and taking oneself as a part of him and taking refuge in him. So on the other hand, the worship of Mahashivaratri means awakening the fire element in the mind because on this day Mahadev appeared for the first time in the form of Shivling.
❀ By worshiping on the day of Shivratri, the blessings of Bhagwan Shiva are showered and the person moves towards spirituality and devotion arises in the mind. On the other hand, worship of Bhagwan Shiva and Mother Parvati on Mahashivaratri brings sweetness in married life and also strengthens love relations.
