Faith victory over Corona, SC gives strong permission to perform rath yatra 2020 only in Puri with some restrictions. After this hearing a wave of happiness has run among devotees. The court said that Puri Rath Yatra will be organized with the coordination of the temple committee, state and central government without compromising on health.
Ratha Yatra, the grand and colorful festival of chariots, is held on Asadh Sukla Dwitiya. As per the holy scriptures, in the path of devotion, it is believed that when a fortunate devotee who beholds the Bhagwan on the Rath (Chariot), he is liberated from the vicious cycle of birth and death.
"Dole cha Dola Govindam, Chape cha Madhusudanam,
Rathe tu vamanam drustwa punarjanma na vidyate"
With sister Subhadra, along with elder brother Balbhadra, will see Bhagwan Jagannath on chariot (Rath) on Tuesday, 23rd June 2020. Rath's now placed at Badadand Rathkhala. These three chariots are Nandi Ghosh of Mahaprabhu Shree jagannath, Taladhwaj Rath of Bhagwan Balabhadra and Deba Dalan of mata Subhadra. In the Rath Yatra, the three deities are taken from the Jagannath Temple in chariots to the Gundicha Temple, where they stay for nine days. Thereafter, the deities again ride the chariots back to Shri Mandir in bahuda Jatra. In the Rath Yatra, Bhagwan Jagannath visits the public once a year, so it has so much importance.

As per Supreme Court's order without any public attendance this year rath yatra will be celebrated that too only in Puri Odisha.
Guidelines by SC for Jagannath Rath Yatra 2020:
➾ Each Rath, shall be pulled by not more than 500 persons.
➾ Each of those 500 persons tested for the COVID-19.
➾
Only negative tested are permitted to pull the rath as per SC guidelines.
➾ All those pulling the chariots should maintain social distancing before, during and after the Rath Yatra, and there should be an interval of one hour between two chariots, the court added.
